Responsibilities

Street Maintenance

Minor repairs, preventative and reconstructive within roadway prism. Included contract and in-house surface treatments and pavement rehabilitation. Cover the inventory, installation, repairs and replacement of signs, striping and other pavement markings. Respond to service requests of staff and constituents. Contracting for special projects outside the skills and equipment of Town of Oro Valley workforce for the repair and preventative maintenance of public works roads and drainage-ways. Respond to emergency traffic conditions during storms or other crises.

Drainage Maintenance

Minor repairs to drainage ways and structures within and under roadway prism such as erosion damage, blockage and structure integrity.

Town Building Maintenance

Town wide building maintenance repairs and preventive. Janitorial, pest control, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, communications etc done by Town staff and contractors.

Fleet/Fuel Maintenance

Tracking and scheduling of fleet needs, repairs, maintenance and purchases. Purchase and tracking of fuel use town wide.

Community Programs

Create and implement community programs such as “Adopt-A-Roadway” and contract labor with PPEP Inc. (labor force of developmentally disabled adults.)

Stormwater

Plan, develop and maintain stormwater programs to protect water quality, prevent flooding, minimize drainage hazards and preserve natural stormwater systems in a manner that ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations
